The Firm Clifton Ingram is a 7 partner Firm of solicitors employing over 100 members of staff. As one of the leading firms in the Thames Valley and M3 Corridor, Clifton Ingram serves both individuals and business clients from our offices in Farnham, Reading and Wokingham. Focusing on our client’s individual needs, our aim is to provide practical solutions and proactive legal advice.

The Accounts Team is a small friendly supportive team based across all three offices and overseen by the Firm’s Chief Financial Officer.

This office-based role is supported by a small team of Cashiers and supervised by the Senior Legal Cashier. This position would suit a motivated individual with a willingness to learn and the ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment. This provides a unique opportunity to gain invaluable experience in a support-based role in a law firm. The primary base for the successful candidate will be our Wokingham office, travel to our Farnham and Reading offices may occasionally be required.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Processing outward CHAPS and Bacs payments
  • Allocation of client receipts
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Taking Card Payments from clients over the telephone and in person
  • Processing Purchase ledger invoices on the accounts system
  • Posting of Office Disbursements including Land Registry, Court fees, and other search fees
  • Banking client and office cheques/cash as and when required
  • Processing Counsel fee notes onto the purchase and relevant client ledger’s
  • Monitoring and responding to queries within the accounts shared inbox
  • Other general accounts administrative tasks

Full training for this role will be provided.

The successful applicant will have:

  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Good organisational skills
  • GCSE (or equivalent) level education (including Maths and English Language)
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral
  • Excellent IT skills: Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Willingness to complete compliance exercises specifically relating to the Solicitors Accounts Rules is essential.
