Clifton College is seeking to appoint a well-qualified and enthusiastic English/SEND Learning Support Teacher to join our Upper School Learning Support Department on a permanent, part-time basis (0.8 FTE) from September 2026. This role supports pupils in Years 9–11 with English, Humanities and study skills, through one‑to‑one and small group teaching. Group sizes are intentionally small, enabling highly personalised teaching and meaningful pupil progress. The successful candidate may also have opportunities to teach additional subjects alongside English/SEND Learning Support.
Responsibilities
- Deliver high‑quality teaching and support to pupils with diverse learning needs.
- Contribute to the wider life of the school through co‑curricular involvement and House/Tutor duties.
- Work closely with colleagues, parents and external agencies to ensure pupils receive the necessary support and encouragement to thrive.
Qualifications
- Experience teaching English and/or other essay‑based subjects to secondary‑aged pupils.
- Experience supporting pupils with additional educational needs.
- Commitment to inclusive education and adaptive teaching.
- Ability to inspire pupils to become confident, independent, and reflective learners.
- Strong collaboration skills and enjoyment of working as part of a close‑knit and ambitious team.
