An able mathematician and inspiring teacher is required to join this large and successful department from September 2026 to teach full or part time across the range of ages and attainment to some or all years from Year 9 to Year 13.

The core requirement of the role is teaching from Tuesday to Thursday inclusive on a 0.5 FTE contract, but working hours can be discussed and flexibility applied if necessary. The role can be extended beyond this for suitable candidates, all the way up to a full time role.

We would also welcome applications from graduates without teaching qualifications who wish to develop a career in teaching starting directly in employment, possibly with the inclusion of pursuit of a teaching qualification alongside the role.

The successful candidate should be academically well qualified: it is expected that applicants will have good grades in A Levels including Mathematics and desirably, a Bachelor’s degree that contains a mathematical element.

The successful candidate will be passionate about Mathematics as a subject in its own right, and also about teaching and learning both within the discipline and across the curriculum. Their enthusiasm for the subject and their ability to communicate effectively is essential across all the ages and abilities they are working with. They will be able to create a challenging and effective learning environment for all their pupils.
