The role of a Paralegal in the Capital Markets team in the Newcastle Legal Delivery Centre offers you the chance to work within the Capital Markets product group, within the GFM practice area (and other practice areas as needed) which complement the firm's work, ensuring that knowledge, resources, processes, and technology are deployed effectively to support our clients.
Who you will work with
At our Newcastle Delivery Centre, you’ll be part of a well‑established paralegal support team with a wide range of seniority and specialisms. As a Capital Markets Paralegal you will collaborate closely with Paralegals, Apprentice Paralegals, Senior and Supervisory Paralegals, Managing Paralegals, Operations Managers, Legal Technology Advisors and Process Architects. You are likely to have direct contact and communication with Associates, Lawyers and Business Professionals based in other offices around the world.

What you will do
- Red flag due diligence exercises
- Limited partner transfers
- Reviewing subscription and other fund documents
- Assisting with signings and closings
- Verifying prospectuses and investor presentations
- Drafting transaction documents and letters
- Reviewing pre and post‑completion work
- Proofreading/checking cross‑referencing
- Redacting
- Preparing precedents
- You will use the latest legal technology for service delivery including, but not limited to Generative AI, Kira, High Q, Relativity and Contract Companion
- Other administrative tasks as and when required

Qualifications
Essential
- Demonstrable previous experience of working in an office or corporate environment
- Good academics – you will be a graduate (any discipline, non‑law degrees accepted) or have completed a CILEx level 3 (or above) qualification in Law.
- Flexible and effective verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent research capabilities with the ability to follow detailed instructions and produce complex findings
- Proactive and forward thinking
- Flexible and have desire to learn
- Organised and efficient – ability to meet daily, weekly and monthly deadlines
- Proficient in applying and using a range of technology

Desirable
- Demonstrable previous paralegal experience, particularly within transactional practice areas
