The role Our IP group in London has nearly doubled in size in the last 2 years and is a priority for further growth both in the UK and internationally. We are seeking an experienced mid‑level IP associate with strong litigation and non‑contentious advisory IP experience to join our London office.
Who you will work with Our IP group is growing. It sits at the heart of our global IP practice, comprising over 100 lawyers worldwide. You will collaborate with IP lawyers on global assignments and support other groups on IP aspects of their mandates, including our Tech/Digital group, corporate/M&A, anti‑trust and commercial litigators.
What you will be responsible for You will handle a wide variety of IP work in technology, life sciences and fast‑moving consumer goods sectors:
- Standalone IP advice on licensing, transaction structuring, infringement, clearance and prosecution strategy, and validity issues.
- Cases before the UK IPO and CJEU.
- IP strategy and counselling.
- High Court proceedings in the fields of trade marks and life sciences.
- Complex cross‑border IP licensing across multiple sectors including life sciences, FMCG and technology.
- Parallel imports and IP settlements.
Qualifications We are looking for an outstanding mid‑level IP lawyer with both contentious and transactional experience across life sciences, tech and FMCG:
- First‑class legal ability and practical commercial approach.
- Excellent drafting and communication skills.
- Demonstrated client focus and ability to manage client relationships.
- Experience in advisory work across a range of industry sectors, including life sciences, tech and FMCG.
