The Clifford Chance Private Funds Group advises fund managers on structuring and fundraising private equity, real estate, infrastructure, debt/credit and emerging markets funds. We advise a wide range of fund managers on raising closed‑ended funds and structuring their related executive arrangements and management structures. We also advise some institutional investors on their participation in closed‑ended private funds.

The role is pivotal in maintaining and enhancing the group’s knowledge resources, ensuring consistency and excellence across global operations. The successful candidate will work closely with knowledge lawyers, information officers, and other stakeholders to support the group’s strategic objectives.

What you will be responsible for / do:

  • Overseeing the updating and improvement of global knowledge resources, including precedents, guidance notes, and practice materials.
  • Identifying opportunities for innovation and efficiency in knowledge management processes.
  • Encouraging know‑how submissions and participation of the junior team in know‑how creation.
  • Maintaining and updating the group’s suite of templates to ensure accuracy, compliance, and best practice.
  • Working closely with other knowledge lawyers and information officers across the firm to align resources and share best practices.
  • Liaising with partners and fee earners to ensure knowledge tools meet business needs.
  • Representing the firm in relevant industry working groups, contributing to thought leadership and staying abreast of market developments.
  • Monitoring key legal and regulatory development pipeline and planning appropriate training/briefings for associates.
  • Assisting with preparation for, and delivery of, the PFG trainee induction program.
  • Planning and coordinating the group’s ongoing education and training program.
  • Delivering know‑how updates at group meetings.
  • Preparing client briefings and other thought leadership pieces (internal and external).
  • Assisting with the preparation of articles for industry publications.
  • Supporting client training initiatives by preparing materials and coordinating delivery with relevant stakeholders.
  • Assisting the Head of Practice Development with pitch materials, where required, and liaising on the delivery of any in‑house client training initiatives or other business development activities.

Qualifications:

You will be a qualified lawyer/PSL with experience in fund formation, ideally closed‑ended, private fund structures and related regulatory considerations.

Hybrid working:

This role follows our 'balanced' hybrid working approach and as long as business needs allow, you will be supported to work in a hybrid way with the expectation of working from the office for a minimum of 50% of your time.
