The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mindset, a solid understanding of insurance operations, and hands-on experience working with data throughout its lifecycle — from analysis and mapping through to validation and user acceptance testing. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including project managers, actuaries, data engineers, and business stakeholders to ensure that data solutions meet business needs and quality standards. Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze and understand business requirements related to core insurance data (e.g., policies, claims, customers, billing) to support modeling, data migration, reporting, and analytics initiatives.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders (such as business analysts, project managers, actuaries, and finance teams) and technical teams to document and validate data requirements.
  • Define, document, and maintain comprehensive data mapping specifications, including source-to-target field mappings, transformation rules, data cleansing logic, and validation criteria.
  • Perform detailed data analysis to identify data structures, relationships, quality issues, and anomalies across various source systems.
  • Translate business rules and requirements into clear, actionable specifications for data development teams (e.g., ETL, reporting).
  • Work closely with developers and data engineers to ensure that implemented data solutions meet business needs and functional expectations.
  • Develop and execute data validation strategies and test cases to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and completeness.
  • Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) by helping business users validate data outputs and reports.
  • Identify, investigate, and help resolve data issues, discrepancies, and defects throughout the data lifecycle.
  • Maintain thorough documentation, including data dictionaries, mapping documents, process flows, and project status updates.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Data or Business Analyst, preferably in data migration and/or reporting projects within the insurance industry.
  • Solid understanding of core insurance operations (e.g., policy administration, claims, underwriting, billing) and related data structures.
  • Strong skills in data analysis, data profiling, and data mapping (source-to-target).
  • Proficiency in SQL for data extraction, analysis, and validation.
  • Demonstrated ability to define and document detailed data transformation rules and validation criteria.
  • Excellent analytical thinking, problem-solving, and attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage and collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Comfortable working in English Language on a daily basis, both spoken and written form.
  • Ability to translate complex business requirements into clear functional and technical documentation.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience with core insurance systems (e.g., Guidewire, Duck Creek, Insis, SICS, Insurity, or other legacy/modern platforms).
  • Familiarity with ETL tools and processes used in data migration or data integration projects.
  • Understanding data governance, metadata management, and data quality best practices.
  • Experience in Agile, Scrum, or hybrid delivery methodologies.
  • Knowledge of data warehousing, data visualization, and business intelligence tools.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, Actuarial Science, or related field.
