As a Senior Data Platform Engineer, you'll lead the design and evolution of scalable analytics platforms, ETL pipelines and workflow orchestration systems that power product insights and AI-driven capabilities. This is a hands-on role focused on modernising legacy systems, reducing technical debt and transitioning services into a high-performance, serverless AWS architecture.
What You'll Do:
- Design and scale data platforms, analytics pipelines, and ETL workflows
- Build robust, production-grade services using Python and AWS
- Develop high-throughput APIs and scalable data infrastructure
- Improve reliability, observability, performance, and operational efficiency
- Support AI and machine learning initiatives with strong data foundations
- Drive architecture decisions and modernisation strategies across the platform
About you:
- You have strong experience with Python and AWS cloud technologies - including Amazon CDK
- You have expertise in data platforms, analytics infrastructure and ETL orchestration (they use Luigi so experience with that is beneficial)
- You have experience of moving data / ML solutions into production environments
- You have a strong understanding of scalability, latency, reliability and observability
- You're collaborative, comfortable mentoring others, provide technical direction and communicating with senior stakeholders
- You have achieved a 2.1 or above in a STEM discipline
