Are you a Senior Software Engineer with a strong knowledge of the capabilities of GenAI? You could be progressing your career in a hands-on role at a tech driven, global Asset Manager with multiple billions of dollars under management, on a 12 month Fixed term Contract.
As a GenAI Engineer you'll join the Investment Technology Research team and work closely with Investment Analysts on a mix of prototyping, evaluation and engineering. The work is interesting and complex, spanning Python development, RAG and retrieval workflows, MCP and tool integrations, model evaluation and the engineering needed to turn promising ideas into reliable internal tools. You'll be at the intersection of platform engineering, data engineering and developer experience, with a strong emphasis on enabling others. You will work directly with stakeholders and users to identify opportunities, troubleshoot issues and deliver platform capabilities that improve the quality, speed and reliability of analytical functions. You'll seek continuous improvement and pick new things up on the job as the tech stack evolves.
Location / WFH: There's a hybrid work from home policy with three days in the London office per week where you'll join a supportive, diverse team environment with a large range of facilities.
About you:
- You have experience within an Investment Management or financial services environment.
- You have advanced skills with Python.
- You have experience of building applications using LLMs or other modern GenAI techniques.
- You have experience with RAG systems, retrieval design and grounding model outputs.
- You have experience of integrating tools, APIs, LLM SDKs and MCP-style capabilities into GenAI workflows.
- You have experience designing or running evaluations for GenAI systems, including working with users to assess output quality.
- You have experience using agentic coding tools such as Claude Code, Codex, or similar.
- You have strong problem-solving skills, pragmatism and sound judgement around the strengths and limits of LLM-based systems.
- You have experience of working with stakeholders and users to understand problems and build effective solutions.
- You have achieved a 2.1 or above from a top tier university in a STEM discipline.
