Are you a senior technologist looking for an opportunity to progress your career in a hands-on role where you can make an impact? You could be joining a scaling tech company that has developed a digital distribution platform transforming electronic trading in the institutional FX options market via a central marketplace where institutions can place, discover and match option interests electronically - improving liquidity and efficiency for all participants as the platform scales.
As a Backend Developer you will collaborate with a small team of technologists and successful entrepreneurs to design and implement intelligent solutions to business needs, with a focus on TypeScript and Node backend systems but also with exposure to and occasional frontend work. You'll help to ensure best practices are maintained and participate in code reviews to maintain sound engineering practices and share knowledge with the team.
Location / WFH: There's a remote first policy, with the caveat that you'll meet up with the team in London once every two months, so you can work from home most of the time.
About you:
- You have experience of building enterprise grade systems that are reliable, secure, maintainable and observable.
- You have strong TypeScript and Node.js backend development skills - Python is also desirable for data related work.
- You have experience of building event-driven systems and public APIs.
- You have a strong appreciation of SaaS, Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code, GitOps, CI/CD practices and Cloud infrastructure (they use GCP but AWS experience is also fine).
- You have some experience with front end work using React (or similar).
- You're comfortable in a fast paced, sometimes ambiguous start-up environment with changing priorities.
- You have used AI tools and are comfortable and interested in how to use them to improve efficiency.
- You're collaborative and pragmatic with great communication skills.
