Overview
Leads AI/GenAI cost governance and FinOps across cloud and AI spend to maximize value from AI investments. Partners with Engineering, Product and Finance to implement governance, cost allocation and budgeting while optimising token-based consumption and model economics. Develop AI FinOps frameworks, dashboards and standards, driving cost efficiency without compromising outcomes. Works across providers and AI capabilities to support scalable, responsible AI adoption.

Responsibilities
- Govern AI/GenAI cost governance and value measurement across cloud and AI spend
- Analyse cloud and AI spend; improve cost allocation and accountability
- Establish governance, controls and standards for AI and cloud usage
- Collaborate with Engineering, Product and Finance to identify cost-saving opportunities
- Drive consumption reduction via prompt optimisation, context management, caching, routing and batching
- Evaluate LLM/model pricing across providers to inform technology decisions
- Develop AI FinOps and Token Economics frameworks and related dashboards/Reporting
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis and forecasting for AI and cloud levers
- Maintain optimisation pipeline spanning AI consumption and traditional cloud levers (rightsizing, reservations, storage, scheduling)
- Assess FinOps maturity and research Azure and AI capabilities; create training and documentation
- Engage with stakeholders to drive continuous improvement
Key requirements
- Experience in AI/ML or GenAI cost management
- Experience with FinOps or cloud financial management
- Token usage monitoring or metering tools familiarity
- Performance optimisation practices (rightsizing, workload optimisation, model inference efficiency)
- Knowledge of LLM/GenAI pricing structures across major providers (Azure OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.)
- Understanding of Azure Cost Management, cost allocation, tagging, forecasting and budgeting
- Ability to translate consumption data into accountable ownership and measurable financial outcomes
- Strong reporting, problem solving and analytical abilities
- Ability to translate complex data into clear visual insights for technical and non-technical audiences
