Product Application Support Engineer (SQL) Newcastle onsite to £100k
Do you have a first class education combined with advanced technical problem solving and customer service skills?
You could be progressing your career as a Product Application Support Engineer at a FinTech start-up, they have secure backing and an established Hedge Fund client as a partner; this is an excellent opportunity to join a scaling tech company and gain valuable finance experience.
As a Product Application Support Engineer you will gain an indepth understanding of the product you are supporting (trading systems) and provide technical support on issues, assisting Quants and Traders and ensuring they have the technology required. You\’ll be hands-on problem solving but also take a high level view, identifying any recurring problems, writing scripts to make fixes and collaborating with engineers on longer term solutions and product developments.
Location:
You\’ll join colleagues in brand new Central Newcastle offices on a full-time basis (Monday to Friday), working hours 0900-1800 with some flexibility. The offices are well equipped and offer fantastic views across the City and the local countryside, many employees walk or cycle in (onsite showers available!).
About you:
- You have an outstanding record of academic achievement – 1.1, first class degree in Computer Science (or closely related discipline) from a top tier university (i.e. Russel Group or top 100 global university), backed by A grades at A-level
- You have experience within a finance / trading / hedge fund environment
- You have L2 / L3 technical support experience
- You have strong SQL coding skills
- You\’re capable of identifying recurring issues and proactive in addressing them
- You\’re collaborative with excellent communication skills
- You enjoy problem solving and fixing things
