You could be progressing your career as a Site Reliability Engineer / SRE at a FinTech start‑up, they have secure backing and an established Hedge Fund client as a partner; this is an excellent opportunity to join a scaling tech company and gain valuable finance experience.
As a Site Reliability Engineer / SRE you will design and maintain resilient infrastructure using Azure services, implement monitoring and alerting to proactively detect issues and automate deployments through CI/CD pipelines. Working closely with development and security teams, you'll help to optimise system performance, manage incidents and ensure compliance with financial regulations while maintaining high availability for critical applications.
Location
You’ll join colleagues in brand new Central Newcastle offices on a full‑time basis (Monday to Friday), working hours 0900‑1800 with some flexibility. The offices are well equipped and offer fantastic views across the City and the local countryside, many employees walk or cycle in (onsite showers available!).
About you
- You have an outstanding record of academic achievement - 2.1 degree in Computer Science (or closely related discipline) from a top tier university (i.e. Russell Group or top 100 global university), backed by A grades at A‑level.
- You have experience in a similar SRE role e.g. Platform Engineer or DevOps with SRE responsibilities.
- You have a strong knowledge of Azure cloud based services in production environments.
- You have experience with monitoring and alerting tools e.g. DataDog, Grafana, Prometheus, Victoria Metrics, scheduling tools (Control‑M), Operating Systems (Windows / Linux), Kubernetes, cloud platforms (Azure), issue tracking and source control (JIRA, Git, Bitbucket).
- You’re capable of identifying recurring issues and proactive in addressing them.
- You’re collaborative with excellent communication skills.
- You enjoy problem solving and fixing things.
