Do you have a broad range of IT systems / infrastructure support experience? You could be progressing your career at a small, specialised, long established Insurance company with £100m turnover per annum.

As an IT Systems Engineer you will provide L2 / L3 support across business critical applications and on-prem Active Directory environments. The role focuses on monitoring system health, optimising alerting and troubleshooting complex issues across application, infrastructure, network and identity layers. You will lead incident triage, escalation and root cause analysis, while driving problem management to address recurring issues and improve service resilience.

Responsibilities also include supporting Microsoft licensing, administering Confluence Cloud, maintaining AV/Teams Rooms and managing vendor relationships. You’ll also support deployments and CI / CD pipelines, automating tasks with PowerShell, Python and Terraform and working across SQL, APIs and batch processes as well as contributing to security, compliance and DR / BCP activities, while partnering with development teams to enhance observability and operational best practices.

Location / WFH: You’ll be based in the London office with flexibility to work from home one day a week.

About you:

  • You have strong Windows and Linux OS experience
  • You have strong scripting skills with PowerShell or Python
  • You’re happy to work on on‑premise systems
  • You have a good knowledge of the Microsoft tech stack including Active Directory
  • You have a broad range of knowledge across IT infrastructure, databases, networking, vendor management, licensing
  • You have a good appreciation of security
  • You’re collaborative and pro‑active, keen to take ownership and make improvements
