Lead Python Developer in City of Westminster

Salary: £100,000 - 100,000 per year

Requirements

• Skilled Python Developer with team leadership experience




• Strong knowledge of software engineering best practices




• Full SDLC experience




• Team leadership experience, including mentoring and conducting performance reviews




• Knowledge of cloud-based services (GCP preferred, AWS or Azure acceptable)




• Experience building APIs, ideally with FastAPI




• Good understanding of CI/CD, testing, and deployment




• Thorough understanding of Computer Science fundamentals such as OOP, Data Structures, Design Patterns, and Algorithms




• Collaborative and pragmatic with great communication skills




• Degree in a STEM discipline with a 2.1 or above

Responsibilities

• Lead a small, talented tech team to deliver new features and enhancements




• Refactor and contribute to the core banking platform




• Collaboratively problem-solve in a hands-on role




• Maintain a 50/50 split between architecture/design and people management




• Set standards and mentor junior developers




• Foster a culture of continuous improvement and self-development
