Are you an infrastructure technologist with strong AWS and Terraform experience? You could be progressing your career at a scaling technology company that specialises in renewable energy storage and trading.
As a Platform Engineer you'll design, build and optimise the AWS infrastructure, working closely with software engineering teams to deliver scalable, secure and cost effective cloud solutions. This is a hands‑on role with plenty of ownership. You'll take the lead on infrastructure projects, shape architectural decisions, automate and improve ways of working and ensure the AWS platform continues to meet the organisation's evolving technical and business needs.
Your role will include:
- Designing and implementing scalable AWS infrastructure using services including EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, ECS and Lambda;
- Leading infrastructure projects from requirements and architecture through to delivery;
- Building and managing infrastructure as code using Terraform, alongside CI/CD pipelines and automation;
- Monitoring and optimising AWS environments for performance, reliability and cost using CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana and other observability tools;
- Implementing AWS security best practice, including IAM, roles, policies and least privilege access.
As a senior member of the team you'll collaborate with software engineering teams and business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver effective infrastructure solutions, help shape engineering standards, tooling and ways of working and mentor less experienced engineers, contributing to the development of the wider infrastructure team.
Location / WFH: You can work from home in a hybrid model, joining the team in London twice a week.
About you:
- You have experience in managing infrastructure with Terraform on a cloud platform
- You have a deep knowledge of AWS
- You have a proven track record delivering large projects / improvements across complex Infrastructure deployments and platforms
- You have good knowledge of security best practices with expertise in implementing and managing CI/CD pipelines
- You're experienced in containerisation using Docker
- You have excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills
- You have strong collaboration and communication skills for both technical and non-technical stakeholders
