Are you a technologist DevOps Engineer looking for an opportunity to join a tech start-up as a founding member? You could be progressing your career in an impactful role at a start-up Investment Management firm that have secure backing and an established Hedge Fund client as a partner.
As a Senior DevOps Engineer you will provide subject matter expertise on DevOps, establishing the function, putting systems, processes and policies in place. You'll be responsible for the automation of infrastructure and systems, ensuring streamlined and efficient operations. A key focus is on owning, managing, and maintaining the Continuous Integration (CI) infrastructure, which supports the development pipeline and promotes rapid, reliable code delivery. Additionally, the position includes developing and enhancing monitoring and diagnostic tools to improve system visibility and operational performance. Another important aspect of the role is delivering automation solutions that directly benefit end users, improving their experience and reducing manual tasks.
Location / WFH: You’ll join colleagues in brand new Central Newcastle offices on a full-time basis (Monday to Friday), working hours 0900-1800 with some flexibility. The offices are well equipped and offer fantastic views across the City and the local countryside, many employees walk or cycle in (onsite showers available!).
About you:
- You have an academic record of achievement, minimum 2.1 at BSc from a top tier university, Computer Science or similar technical / scientific discipline, backed by A A B grades at A-level.
- You have expertise with DevOps within an Azure environment.
- You have a software engineering background (any programming language, C# or Python preferred) and strong scripting skills (PowerShell preferred).
- You have experience with Docker Orchestration via Kubernetes.
- You have experience with public cloud technologies; Azure, AWS, GCP.
- You have a strong knowledge of modern software engineering best practices.
