Trainee Marketing Manager | Graduate Scheme 2026
Interested in why people choose one brand over another? This graduate scheme gives you the opportunity to explore that question through live campaigns, direct customer conversations and practical management training.
You’ll begin by supporting face-to-face marketing, brand representation and customer acquisition campaigns for recognised brands including BT/EE, E.ON and Mercedes. With guidance from experienced managers, you’ll learn how customer feedback informs campaign decisions and how effective leadership helps a team deliver results.
Graduates from all degree disciplines are welcome. Previous marketing experience isn’t essential.
Start with the customer experience
Your first stage will focus on understanding campaign delivery. You’ll learn the client’s objectives, approved messages and professional standards before putting that knowledge into practice.
You will:
- Engage customers in person, explain products and services, and support customer acquisition.
- Record campaign outcomes, recurring questions and customer feedback.
- Identify patterns in engagement and discuss your observations with managers.
- Help prepare campaign materials, briefings and daily priorities.
- Support promotional activity across Dudley and the wider West Midlands.
- Review results against agreed activity, quality and conversion measures.
This is a people-facing role combining office-based learning with practical campaign work. You should be comfortable approaching customers and travelling to campaign locations when required.
Develop towards leading a team
As you demonstrate confidence and consistency, your training will expand into campaign coordination, coaching and performance management.
You’ll learn how to deliver briefings, give useful feedback, identify training needs and organise people and resources. You may also support client updates and develop your understanding of campaign budgets, account relationships and contractual expectations.
Responsibility will increase as you meet development criteria and show that you can apply your learning reliably.
What you’ll gain
- Structured graduate training: Develop marketing knowledge, commercial awareness and leadership skills.
- Direct mentorship: Receive practical coaching and regular feedback from experienced managers.
- Campaign experience: Understand customer behaviour through live brand activity and performance reporting.
- A route towards management: Work towards broader responsibility for campaign delivery, team development and client support.
What we’re looking for
You’ll need a completed university degree, clear communication skills and a genuine interest in marketing and business.
We value organisation, attention to detail and the ability to listen to feedback and act on it. Experience from retail, hospitality, sales, events, volunteering or university societies can provide useful examples of teamwork and initiative.
Above all, bring curiosity about customers and a willingness to learn the work before taking responsibility for leading others.
