CNG | Full-time | Monday to Friday | On-site
Enjoy meeting people, asking questions and helping someone understand something new? At CNG, we’re looking for a Trainee Marketing Assistant who brings curiosity, a positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
You’ll support brand activation, events and face-to-face marketing campaigns, learning how to represent clients and communicate their messages clearly. From preparing for a campaign to understanding the responses it receives, you’ll gain practical experience with support from the team.
Previous marketing experience is welcome but isn’t essential. Whether you’re leaving education, changing careers or bringing experience from retail, hospitality or another public-facing role, we’d like to hear from you.
Your part in each campaign
You’ll start by understanding the client, the audience and what the campaign is designed to achieve. Team briefings and training will help you prepare before taking part in live activity.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Helping prepare campaign materials and checking that information is current.
- Supporting promotional events and brand activation activity.
- Starting conversations with members of the public and identifying relevant interest.
- Explaining approved products, services and campaign messages accurately.
- Recording engagement, audience feedback and campaign outcomes.
- Sharing useful observations with colleagues and working towards agreed quality and performance measures.
This is an active role with regular public interaction. Listening matters as much as speaking: you’ll need to understand people’s questions, respond thoughtfully and adapt your approach while keeping the brand message consistent.
What you’ll gain at CNG
- Practical training: Learn campaign preparation, brand guidelines and effective customer communication.
- Support as you develop: Receive feedback to help you build confidence and improve your work.
- Experience across campaign stages: Understand how preparation, live engagement and reporting fit together.
- Room to take on more: As your skills develop, opportunities may include campaign coordination, events support or helping colleagues learn campaign messages.
Progression will depend on your performance, readiness for further responsibility and available opportunities within the business.
What will help you succeed
We’re looking for someone who:
- Communicates clearly and feels comfortable approaching new people.
- Listens carefully and takes feedback on board.
- Arrives prepared, follows instructions and keeps accurate records.
- Works well with colleagues and treats the public professionally.
- Is available for full-time, on-site work from Monday to Friday.
You don’t need to arrive knowing every marketing term. What matters is being willing to learn, putting that learning into practice and taking pride in how you represent a client.
