We’re looking for a Technical SEO Specialist to join our expert team—someone who thrives on problem-solving, loves diving deep into technical challenges, and has a passion for maximising organic performance through data-driven insights. As a Technical SEO Specialist, you will be responsible for analysing, optimising, and maintaining the technical health of our clients' websites to improve their visibility in search results. Working closely with SEO strategists, developers, and content teams, you'll ensure that websites adhere to best practices for crawling, indexing, site speed, and overall performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical SEO Auditing & Analysis
    • Conduct in-depth technical SEO audits to identify opportunities and provide actionable recommendations for improving website performance.
    • Analyse site architecture, internal linking, and URL structures to ensure they align with SEO best practices.
    • Monitor crawl efficiency and indexation through Google Search Console, Screaming Frog and other auditing tools.
    • Perform log file analysis to understand how search engines interact with a site and identify potential crawl budget inefficiencies.
    • Identify and troubleshoot duplicate content, canonicalisation, and thin content issues.
  • Technical Implementation & Onsite Optimization
    • Work with development teams to implement structured data markup (schema.org) to enhance search appearance in rich results.
    • Optimise robots.txt files, XML sitemaps, canonical tags, and meta directives to improve crawling and indexation.
    • Ensure websites meet Core Web Vitals (CWV) and page speed optimisation benchmarks using tools like PageSpeed Insights and Lighthouse.
    • Implement and advise on hreflang tags for international SEO to ensure correct regional/language targeting.
  • Website Performance & Troubleshooting
    • Work with developers to improve website speed and server response times, using techniques like lazy loading, image compression, and efficient caching.
    • Identify and resolve crawl errors, 404s, and redirect issues to maintain a clean URL structure.
    • Ensure best practices for mobile-first indexing, optimising mobile site performance and UX.
    • Work closely with SEO strategists, content teams, and developers to ensure technical SEO is aligned with broader search strategies.
    • Provide guidance on website migrations, domain changes, and replatforming to prevent ranking drops.
    • Develop and maintain automated reporting dashboards in Looker Studio, Google Analytics, and other platforms.
    • Stay up-to-date with Google algorithm updates, industry trends, and evolving best practices to keep our clients ahead of competitors.
    • Present findings and recommendations to clients and internal stakeholders, translating technical jargon into clear, actionable insights.
  • Keyword Research & Strategy
    • Conduct in-depth keyword research to identify target terms and content/optimisation opportunities, integrating these into a targeted plan.
  • Workflow Management
    • Working with Account Managers and the Client Services team to create and manage a prioritised calendar of activity to maximise performance.
  • Performance Monitoring
    • Track and analyse SEO performance through tools such as Google Analytics, Search Console, AHRefs and SEMrush.
    • Provide performance updates and make data-driven recommendations for improvements.
  • Collaborative Projects
    • Work closely with the content-based SEO specialists, Paid Media, Development and Creative teams to ensure cohesive digital marketing strategies that align with client goals and enhance the overall user experience.
  • SEO Audits
    • Regularly provide SEO audits for clients and prospects in new business alike.
    • Present back findings, recommendations and proposed focuses and goals.
  • Client Communication
    • Participate in client meetings and presentations, providing updates on content performance, offering strategic insights, and helping to refine SEO plans based on client feedback.
    • Build and maintain relationships with key clients, ensuring excellent communication and client satisfaction.
  • Service and team development
    • Proactively put forward new and innovative ideas and suggestions to evolve our technical SEO service offering.
    • Lead and present ongoing internal training on platforms, strategies, and service offerings as and when required by the business.

Skills & Experience:

  • 2+ years of experience in a technical SEO role, preferably within an agency environment.
  • Strong knowledge of SEO best practices, search engine algorithms, and ranking factors.
