The role: We are looking for a talented and motivated Sales Development Representative (SDR) to join our high performing UK Sales team. As our SDR, you will be responsible for identifying and contacting potential customers, qualifying and generating new business opportunities, and managing leads through the sales pipeline. You will work closely with the sales team to ensure that our company’s sales targets and goals are met and exceeded. We are looking for an individual who has a genuine passion for sales, and a great attitude and work ethic to match. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in sales, excellent communication skills and can follow sales processes whilst using their initiative to solve customer problems, and build brand advocacy within the community.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Conducting outbound prospecting activities via phone calls and emails to generate new leads.
  • Research and identify potential customers who fit our target market criteria, engaging with leads to assess their needs and qualify them as potential opportunities for the sales team.
  • Update customer relationship management (CRM) software with accurate and timely information on leads and activities, and provide regular updates to the sales team on lead generation activities and pipeline status.
  • Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to develop effective outreach strategies and campaigns.
  • Follow up with leads to schedule appointments or product demonstrations for the sales team.
  • Continuously improve outreach strategies based on feedback and performance metrics, including reviewing and refining outreach scripts, email templates, and other sales collateral to optimise effectiveness.
  • Participate in sales meetings to discuss progress, challenges, and opportunities in lead generation efforts.
  • Analyse key performance indicators (KPIs) such as conversion rates, response rates, and pipeline velocity to evaluate the effectiveness of outbound prospecting efforts.
  • Share best practices and insights with other members of the sales team.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a Sales Development role is a must-have.
  • Experience either selling a SaaS product or selling to K-12 schools essential.
  • Proficiency using Salesforce.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with potential customers.
  • Knowledge of sales techniques and strategies.
  • Strong problem-solving and negotiation skills.
  • Time management and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A desire to learn and grow in the sales field.
