The Cloud Infrastructure Engineering team builds and manages the foundational blocks of ClickHouse Cloud's data planeâcompute, networking, security, and a multiâcloud, multiâregion architecture that provides a reliable, scalable managed ClickHouse experience.
What youâll do:
- Architect and build a robust, scalable, highly available distributed infrastructure.
- Build a cuttingâedge cloudânative platform on the public cloud and automate our resource management.
- Collaborate closely with the core database team, security team, and partners to deliver the SAS offering.
- Improve routing, traffic components, and reliability of our cloud service.
- Apply industry and distributedâsystems best practices to systematically improve availability.
- Design and build security components and tooling: firewall, PKI, certificate infra, zeroâtrust network, etc.
- Improve performance and cost efficiency of our infrastructure.
About you:
- 5+ years of software development experience building and operating scalable, faultâtolerant, distributed systems.
- Proficiency in Go, C/C++, Java, or another OOP language.
- Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP; familiarity with IaC tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Handsâon experience developing cloud infrastructure services, preferably with Kubernetes.
- Experience with cloudânative edge or serviceâmesh services, preferably with Envoy and Istio.
- History of leading and shipping largeâscope technical projects with experienced engineers.
- Strong understanding of network topologies, protocols, and security principles (VPNs, firewalls, load balancers).
- Knowledge of cloud security best practices, including encryption, access controls, and compliance standards (SOC 2, GDPR).
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate in a global team.
- Strong problemâsolving and production debugging skills.
- Passion for efficiency, availability, scalability and data governance.
- High ownership, accountability, and responsibility.
Compensation:
For USâbased roles, a typical starting salary range is listed above. Premium market ranges may apply in certain locations as noted. Compensation may be higher or lower than posted ranges based on education, experience, location, and performance.
