We are seeking a dedicated and experienced 1:1 Support Assistant to work with a Year 2 student at a welcoming primary school in LE7, Leicester. This is a crucial role supporting a child who requires additional guidance with behaviour management and is prone to extreme physical behaviour.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide focused 1:1 support to a Year 2 student throughout the school day
- Implement behaviour management strategies in a calm, consistent manner
- Support the child's learning and social development
- Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO
- Maintain detailed records of progress and incidents
- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of the child and other pupils
Essential Requirements
- Experience working with children with behavioural challenges - this is essential
- Ability to remain calm and professional when managing challenging behaviour
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
