Temporary Work Planner – Local Authority Experience Wanted

Location: Derby

Temporary Contract | Full-Time – 37 Hours per Week

Pay: £15.84 per hour

Are you experienced in local government or housing maintenance and ready to hit the ground running? Becky at JT Recruit is looking for a confident Work Planner to join a busy building maintenance team on a temporary basis, helping deliver a first-class service to tenants and residents.

The Role:

You'll play a key part in keeping operatives fully scheduled, jobs running smoothly, and customers well-informed. Using an electronic diary and scheduling system, you’ll be responsible for planning repairs and maintenance works across a range of trades – ensuring every appointment counts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and manage diaries for in-house trades, contractors, and surveyors
  • Schedule repairs, follow-on works, and tenant appointments using digital systems
  • Respond quickly to absences or emergencies with smart rescheduling
  • Liaise with customer service teams, supervisors, and tenants to resolve issues
  • Keep back-end systems updated with skills, holidays, and operational info
  • Monitor performance, prepare reports, and support service improvements
