To support the smooth and efficient allocation of transport work by coordinating the daily schedules of over 35 drivers. The Transport Control team handles over 200 incoming calls daily and manages 800-1,100 job allocations, ensuring timely collections and exceptional service delivery to internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Allocate regular and ad-hoc collections to drivers and contractors
- Manage route allocation and driver schedules to ensure full coverage, including during sickness or holidays
- Monitor and account for all previously allocated work using internal and third-party systems
- Liaise with drivers, customers, and internal departments to ensure jobs are completed accurately and on time
- Provide customers with waybills, courier bags, and mailbags as required
- Sign for incoming packages and notify recipients promptly
- Operate forklift trucks (FLT) for loading/unloading vans and lorries
- Collaborate with Customer Services, Sales, Logistics, and Operations to resolve customer issues and queries
- Maintain accurate records of job allocation and status updates
