About this Position: We are seeking a Subject Matter Expert (SME) with strong experience in designing protection and control cubicles, specifically aligned with National Grid standards. Ideal candidates will have a background in manufacturing, with a focus on low voltage (LV) design and a deep understanding of protection systems. Proficiency with Engineering Base software is essential. Rates: DOE, Hybrid Working – 3 days on-site, 2 days working remotely, 6-month contract with extension after initial 6 months. Inside IR35 Job Responsibilities: * Design and develop LV secondary systems for power distribution projects. * Create electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and general arrangement (GA) drawings using Engineering Base software. * Design protection and control cubicles, including transformer, switchgear, marshalling, distribution board, and control panels. * Collaborate with engineers and project managers to integrate technical requirements into design specifications. * Conduct feasibility assessments to ensure efficient and cost-effective solutions. * Ensure compliance with relevant electrical codes, industry standards, and safety regulations (e.g., IEC, NEC, IEEE, NEMA). * Produce technical documentation and detailed bills of materials (BOM). * Review and assess vendor proposals and technical submissions for cubicle components. * Provide technical support during manufacturing, assembly, an…
