SQL Database Administrator – 6-month Contract – Outside of IR35 – Blackpool My Customer seeking a skilled and proactive SQL Database Administrator (SQL DBA) to join their team. This role will be pivotal in both the day-to-day operational support of their production databases and in helping shape the long-term architecture of their evolving data platform. You\’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the database systems are stable, performant, and aligned with their cloud-first modernization strategy. Any exposure with migrating from SQL Azure Virtual Machine to Azure serverless technologies would be highly beneficial. Key Responsibilities of the SQL DBA: Strong hands-on experience managing and tuning SQL Server in production environments.Keep a close eye on our SQL Server databases to ensure they’re running smoothly and prevent potential issues before they escalate.Tackle common pain points like disk usage, memory pressure, failed backups, and inefficient indexing.Introduce quick-win automations and alerting to reduce manual firefighting.Investigate and resolve performance issues, failed jobs, and other day-to-day hiccups to maintain operational cleanliness.
