We are delighted to be supporting a lovely London-based charity delivering face-to-face financial advice to recruit an experienced and accredited Specialist Debt Adviser to join their team. This role is perfect for someone who is confident handling complex debt cases, enjoys client-facing work, and is passionate about reducing financial exclusion in underrepresented communities.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing a caseload of debt advice clients, delivering FCA-compliant advice
- Providing full casework support, including creditor negotiation and sustainable repayment plans
- Supporting and mentoring junior staff and contributing to service quality and development
- Working across outreach locations, with some flexibility for hybrid/home working
- Contributing to the development of new services and supporting organisational learning
The ideal candidate will have:
- A valid Level 3 accredited qualification in Debt Advice (e.g., CMA, IMA, Wiser Adviser)
- At least two years’ experience in delivering debt advice and casework
- Strong understanding of debt solutions including DROs, DMPs, Breathing Space, and bankruptcy
