GBR Recruitment Ltd is working exclusively with a modern market leading sustainable, environmentally friendly packaging business in the food / FMCG sector. We are recruiting for an experienced Slitter Machine Operator, responsible for operating and setting a slitting machine that cuts and slits materials into specified widths.

You will set up the machine, ensuring proper alignment of materials, adjust the machine settings, and monitor the quality of cuts. You will also be responsible for quality control, reporting issues, and maintaining a clean and organized work area.

Duties:

  • Setting up and operating the slitting machine, including loading raw packaging materials, adjusting the slitting machine settings, and ensuring the machine is properly calibrated for the specific slitting/cutting tasks.
  • Monitoring the quality of cuts by visually inspecting the cut materials and using measuring tools to ensure they meet specifications.
  • Performing quality control checks, identifying and removing any defects or non-conforming products.

Experience Desired:

  • Packing Slitter / Slitting Machinery Operator experience, or other packaging/print machinery experience is ideal.
  • Ideally, experience in food / FMCG sustainable packaging manufacturing/machining is preferred but not a must.
  • Knowledge of various packaging formats and packaging production techniques.
  • Willingness to work rotating shifts, from 6am to 2pm and 2pm to 10pm (12-8pm Fridays), Monday to Friday.
