Astute's Power Team are currently recruiting 2 QA/QC Lead Engineers to join an Electrical Main Contractor on a new build Waste to Energy facility based in Chester, Cheshire for 6 months. The day rate for the QA/QC Lead Engineers is £450.00 to £480.00 per day outside of IR35.

Role responsibilities and key skills for the role:

  • Lead QA/QC activities for the electrical installation works, ensuring compliance with project specifications, ITPs, British Standards, and client quality requirements.
  • Develop and implement the Electrical Quality Management Plan (QMP), Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), and associated quality procedures.
  • Coordinate inspections and testing for LV/MV/HV systems, switchgear, cabling, earthing, instrumentation, and control systems in line with project milestones.
  • Interface with client representatives, third-party inspectors, and internal teams to manage quality audits, NCRs, and close-out of punch lists.
  • Monitor and report on the quality performance of subcontractors, ensuring corrective actions are implemented where required.
  • Manage QA/QC documentation including red-line markups, test packs, material certificates, and final turnover dossiers.
  • Provide guidance and training to site personnel on quality procedures and best practices to maintain high standards.
  • Support commissioning teams by verifying quality-related documentation and system readiness for energization and handover.
