DK Recruitment are working with a world-renowned, precision Engineering business based in Plymouth who are expanding their Engineering team. The business has a strong culture of innovation, professional growth and are offering an exciting career journey. We are currently looking for a dynamic and experienced Production Design Engineer to play a vital role in bringing new products to market. The role will focus on design and manufacturing documentation surrounding new product introduction and the development of both the product and process.
Main Duties:
- Collaborate with design and engineering teams to ensure new products are manufacturable.
- Develop and implement efficient production processes for new products.
- Create manufacturing plans, including bills of materials and production schedules.
- Proactively identify and mitigate potential manufacturing risks.
- Design and implement robust gauging solutions.
- Support production launch and ramp-up of new bearings.
- Continuously improve manufacturing processes to optimize quality and efficiency.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably bearings or precision components.
- Experience with new product introduction (NPI) processes.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing principles and processes.
- Experience with soft machining.
