An established UKAS accredited organisation with a variety of analytical testing services has an opportunity for a Laboratory Support Technician to join the team. The main function of the Laboratory Support Technician is to support the laboratory operations by:
- Preparing microbiological media and reagents.
- Decontaminating and recycling laboratory glassware, operating the autoclave for plastic waste and performing routine cleaning duties within the laboratory areas.
- Performing stock checks of media and consumables within the laboratory.
- Booking in goods and samples.
As part of a small, tight-knit and fast-paced team, the successful candidate would report directly into the department’s Head. All technical training will be provided in-house, to give the successful candidate a thorough understanding of the testing they will undertake.
To be considered, you will ideally have experience of the lab-based techniques mentioned, gained in a quality assured setting. Candidates with an academic background in a relevant field are encouraged to apply.
