The Company: An established clothing knitwear and jersey manufacturer who supplies to the High Street retailers is currently looking for a Knitter to join their busy team. You'll be working with Shima and Stoll knitting machines which produce seamless comfortable garments. This is a fantastic opportunity for applicants to enter the highly competitive fashion industry, working with the very latest advanced knitting machinery.
The hours for this role are Monday to Friday 6-2, 2-10 and 10-6 on a rotating weekly shift pattern.
The Role:
- Working on Shima and Stoll machines to produce high quality 12gg knitwear samples.
- Change styles on machines so that different patterns may be run.
- Assist with installation of equipment at a knitting start-up operation.
- Keep machines clean and make sure that there are no fabric defects in the cloth.
- Ensure the knitting room is kept clean.
- Thorough communication with other departments to report any events of machine breakdowns and issues.
- Working closely and supervising a small team of knitters.
Skills Required:
- 3-4 yearsβ experience within a similar role.
- MUST have knitwear experience.
- Experience working in the textiles industry.
- A positive attitude to problem solving and a technical mind-set.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a challenging and fast moving environment.
