About the Role: Due to increased demand and ongoing recruitment activity, Surrey Police are seeking experienced PIP1 Investigators to join their teams on a temporary basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to frontline policing by conducting investigations into volume and priority crime.
As an Investigating Officer, you’ll play a crucial role in gathering and reviewing evidence, supporting investigations, and ensuring high-quality victim and witness care throughout the criminal justice process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct investigations into volume and priority crime at PIP1 level
- Interview victims, witnesses, and suspects using appropriate techniques
- Prepare and manage court files, including remand and expedited files
- Handle exhibits and disclosure material in line with legislation
- Work collaboratively with internal departments and external agencies (e.g. CPS)
- Support safeguarding duties where required (e.g., DA, child protection, vulnerable adults)
- Provide high-quality updates and statements in line with evidential standards
- Maintain accurate records and manage caseloads efficiently
