Hours: 37 hours per week

Rate: £20 per hour (Umbrella) (£15 PAYE an hour)

About the Role

Reading Borough Council is seeking a dedicated Family Worker to join our Family Help team on an initial 3-month assignment. You will play a key role in supporting families and delivering effective early help interventions, with a focus on achieving positive and sustainable outcomes for children and their carers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 support and interventions to a caseload of families with varying levels of need
  • Lead inclusive and safe group activities within the children’s centre programme
  • Develop, monitor and review support plans and family assessments
  • Work collaboratively within a multi-agency setting to ensure coordinated care and safeguarding
  • Maintain accurate and timely records of all work undertaken

Requirements

  • A good general education (minimum NVQ Level 3 or equivalent, e.g., A-Levels)
  • Substantial experience working with children and young people across various settings
  • Proven experience working with families, parents, and carers
  • Demonstrated experience in multi-agency settings
