Our independent freight forwarding client who provides international logistics services, is currently looking for an experienced Import Seafreight Operator to join their team in Basildon.   As Import Seafreight Operator, a typical will involve coordinating the complete operational cycle of business from booking with carriers to invoice reconciliation, revenue and costs. You\’ll be liaising with customers, customs authorities and third party contacts. Ensuring customs clearance documents are in order, collecting relevant documentation ready for release/delivery of cargo, invoicing and securing payments. Import Seafreight Operator duties include: FCL Transport booking; both Line and MerchantAwareness of credit levels for accounts prior to deliveryAccurate Duty and VAT invoicingOffering Customers Deliveries within free time upon quayCollating clearance documentation to present to our inhouse clearance departmentTracking ETA\’s via shipping line websites We\’re keen to speak to people with 3+ years\’ experience handling FCL sea freight imports, with Destin 8 / Compass knowledge. Customs clearance ability would also be a distinct advantage.
