The predicted salary is between 28800 - 43200 £ per year.
We are looking for an Assistant Buyer & Internal/External Plant on an ongoing or temp to perm position in the Cambridge area.
- Support procurement of materials and hired-in plant equipment for construction projects.
- Build strong relationships with suppliers - negotiating prices, tracking deliveries, and resolving invoicing issues.
- Work closely with our Senior Buyer and project teams to ensure timely delivery to sites.
- Manage inventory and ensure prompt return of hired-in equipment to avoid extra charges.
- Track and report on procurement activities and help identify cost-saving opportunities.
- 2+ years' experience in procurement or supply chain (construction industry a plus).
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Detail-oriented, a strong team player, and comfortable working to tight deadlines.
- NVQ or degree in a related field (preferred but not essential).
- Confident using Microsoft Office and procurement software.
