This is a hands‑on role working across operations, manufacturing, supply chain and procurement, supporting the delivery of our client's products within a fast‑moving, product‑led environment. The Supply Chain and Operations Specialist will manage the end‑to‑end sourcing, manufacture and supply of our client's components and systems, working closely with engineering, manufacturing partners and suppliers to ensure products are built, delivered and supported effectively.

The role is best suited to someone who understands how products are designed, manufactured and supplied, and who enjoys being close to the practical realities of building and delivering real‑world technology.

What you’ll do

You’ll play a key role in ensuring our client's products can be manufactured and delivered effectively and on time. Responsibilities include:

  • Manage the component supply for the BOM, both with suppliers and manufacturing partners.
  • Provide hands‑on manufacturing and operations support, including process documentation and first line support for external manufacturing sites.
  • Manage and control information for PDM (Product Data Management) tools.
  • Generate status, schedule, and material reporting.
  • Manage schedule and performance of our client's manufacturing partners.
  • Procurement and supply of BOM to support internal development projects.
  • Manage multi‑level BOMs and maintain data accuracy in the PDM tools.
  • Support Engineering design teams with DFM (Design for Manufacturing) and supplier support information.
  • Manage and develop suppliers and manufacturing partners to maximise value, delivery performance and product quality.
  • Optimise costs while ensuring high‑quality, on‑time delivery of goods.
  • Track and manage shipments throughout their full journey, providing clear stakeholder communication and mitigating any logistical issues.
  • Ensure compliance with import/export regulations, Incoterms, and customs documentation.
  • Track shipments from origin to destination, providing updates to stakeholders and resolving bottlenecks.
  • Work in compliance with our client's IT and information security policies.
  • Complete training and awareness around subject specific and company needs as required such as GDPR, phishing etc.

We’re looking for someone who

  • Has demonstrable experience working in operations, manufacturing and supply chain environments, ideally supporting the delivery of physical or engineered products.
  • Has a strong understanding of how products move from design through manufacture to delivery, including BOMs, suppliers, logistics and production constraints.
  • Is comfortable working close to engineering teams and manufacturing partners in a product‑led organisation.
  • Has effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Can work independently and proactively, with strong organisational, analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Has a customer service focused attitude.
  • Has the ability to work and communicate effectively with both commercial and technical employees.
  • Has demonstrable computer literacy and a good knowledge of Microsoft Office packages including Word, Excel and Outlook is essential.
  • Has working knowledge of PDM tools and Database packages as well as experience in PDM setup and management.
  • Has experience in BOM management and/or Engineering Product Development processes.
  • Working knowledge of Material Requirements Planning / Enterprise Resource Planning systems is a distinct advantage.
  • Is analytical with good attention to detail and the ability to take a methodical approach to working with detailed information.
  • Is a conscientious team player who can deal with multiple issues simultaneously and takes responsibility for ensuring activities are completed within the required timeframe.
  • Is delivery focused, with a proven track record in working collaboratively in similar planning environments.
