The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.

We are recruiting for a Production Controller for a leading Defence & Space organisation based on site in Portsmouth. Ideally you will have current SC Clearance, if not you must be eligible to obtain it.

Job Summary:

  • Responsible for Managing the Project Manufacturing Plans within SAP & Primavera P6 for AIT Projects maintaining accurate SAP Master Data: including lead-times attrition Make/buy & Bill of Materials.
  • Work breakdown structure, forecast & Capacity management for direct materials.
  • Management of the planning data required by the Business Systems (P6 – SAP - IPS/DDMS).
  • Ensure that Production Control is focused on the correct priorities & strategies and are working to clearly identify routines and deadlines to meet business & project requirements.
  • Play a major role in Production support work stream improvements with the identification and facilitation of interdepartmental cost saving initiatives, concentrating on the full supply chain process including business systems & tools.

General Responsibilities:

  • Maintain Project visibility, communication and reporting while attending weekly Project meetings as required.
  • Accountability for the Projects “forward & Backward” Pass across projects wrt component order (lead-time) and BOM maturity vs. the Project Schedule.
  • Track Un-planned work against Production Control Work Packages supported by AIT Project Management.
  • Generate Project Production Go Meeting & shortage reports, add input and attend the weekly meetings as a process stakeholder.
  • Ensure Company and departmental standards and procedures are followed.
  • Production Control support to projects, hands on (as required in line with production control Activities Defined Below):
  • Overall understanding of P6 management, in order to generate and maintain a structured Production Plan that drives the overall material Requirements Plan for AIT Projects.
  • Ability to produce both summary and detailed plans (as required) demonstrating progress for management reporting.
  • Ensure topicality of the customer order within SAP is maintained in line with current P6 schedule across AIT Projects.
  • Ensure that Company manufactured parts are released to the relevant Manufacturing facility in time to meet the planned delivery dates.
  • Input and maintain planning data required by the Business System.
  • Authorize MRP requisitions up to a value of £50k.
  • Monitor and align the Material Requirement Plan to the overall Production Plan (Kit release dates).
  • Make allocation decisions when competing needs for material (Project A v Project B).

  • 3 Yrs Previous experience using an MRP/ERP system.
  • 3 yrs Previous experience using SAP.
  • 2 Yrs Previous experience in Planning & schedule management.

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of P6.
  • Previous background in telecommunications space industry.
  • Previous experience / background in (Supply Chain Inventory, Bill Of Materials, Warehouse management).
  • Understanding of Kanban.
  • Understanding of Business Systems.
  • Security clearance to SC level.

This is an umbrella contract, the role is Inside IR35.
