OpenShift Infrastructure Engineer - Kubernetes & Data Protection Specialist (NetBackup / Commvault) 2-Year Programme - Remote - £450/£500 PAYE (No Umbrella fees or Employers NI reductions).
This will suit a solid OpenShift / Kubernetes infrastructure engineer who has moved into cloud native 'data protection' or a NetBackup/Commvault specialist that has evolved into OpenShift / Kubernetes platforms. We're looking for a hands-on OpenShift Engineer with deep Kubernetes infrastructure expertise and strong enterprise backup experience to join a large-scale transformation.
This is not a generic DevOps role as you'll be leading cloud-native data protection strategy across OpenShift clusters — protecting container workloads and OpenShift Virtualization VMs using Veritas NetBackup and Commvault. If you've worked at the intersection of Kubernetes infrastructure and enterprise backup platforms, this long term contract role is for you!
Required Skills and Experience:- 6-10+ years infrastructure background
- Strong hands-on experience with Red Hat OpenShift (OCP)
- Proven administration of NetBackup (10.x ideally) in Kubernetes environments OR strong Commvault Kubernetes protection experience
- Kubernetes operators CSI / PV / PVC lifecycle
- Cluster-level RBAC
- Virtual machine protection in OpenShift (KubeVirt / OpenShift Virtualization)
- RHEL + scripting (Python / Shell)
- OADP / Velero experience
- NetBackup Flex Appliances
- Experience in highly regulated enterprise environments
April 2026 start | Initial contract to Nov 2026 (major 2 year programme) | Remote (UK) | very occasional travel to London / Sheffield / Birmingham.
