Applications are invited for the post of Covert Authorities Coordinator within the Crime and Justice Service Unit, Covert Standards Team. This is a critical role supporting the Covert Authorities Manager to ensure all covert authorities are correctly authorised in line with legislation, policy, and best practice. You will also deputise for the Manager during periods of absence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive, assess, and process covert authority applications, renewals, and revocations.
  • Ensure compliance with legislation, codes of practice, and force policy.
  • Provide tactical guidance on covert techniques and emerging technologies.
  • Support IPCO inspections and deliver covert authorities training.
  • Maintain secure filing systems and administer databases for sensitive information.
  • Act as Professional Applicant for covert authorities when directed.
  • Undertake SPOC training and support on-call duties for resilience.

This role covers a working pattern of Mon-Fri, standard office hours with the possibility of occasional requirement to work outside of these hours as part of an on-call rota.
