Applications are invited for the position of Assistant Paralegal within Legal Services based primarily at Middlesbrough Police Station and the Community Safety Hub at Hemlington, with potential for some travel to locations throughout Cleveland, Durham and North Yorkshire.
The post-holder is required to provide an effective administrative and business support service as part of the paralegal team for legal services by gathering, collating and processing information. The role operates within a small professional legal team and the wider collaborated legal team, which consists of Cleveland Police, Durham Constabulary and North Yorkshire Police Legal Services.
You will be a vital part of the team, providing support to the Lawyers and Paralegals across all portfolios, particularly within the Disclosure Team, as well as both internal and external Clients. The team primarily processes disclosure into family court proceedings and CAFCASS proceedings.
It is essential that applicants have excellent written and verbal communication skills, a methodical and logical approach to managing their workload, and the ability to use Microsoft Office products with accurate data inputting and keyboard skills.
Ideally, the 18.5 hours working pattern will be split over 5 working days, Monday – Friday, but this will be discussed and agreed with the successful candidate.
