Cleveland Fire Brigade is passionate about people, and this role offers an exciting opportunity to lead a dedicated HR Team who take pride in making a real difference in supporting the Service’s purpose of Protecting People, Places and Futures.

As HR Manager you will provide visible leadership, direction and support to ensure the delivery of a high quality, responsive and modern HR service. Working closely with the Head of HR, you will help shape and deliver the strategic direction of the function, contributing to the priorities within the People Pillar of the Service’s Community Risk Management Plan (CRMP).

This is a varied and dynamic role in which you will lead, coach and develop a motivated HR team, while overseeing effective employee relations, resourcing, wellbeing and inclusion activities. You will play a central role in workforce planning and people related change initiatives, ensuring the organisation has the capability, capacity and culture needed to meet current and future priorities. You will also drive continuous improvement and support positive cultural development across the organisation.

We are looking for someone who demonstrates openness, trust and a collaborative approach, with strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate and empower others. The ideal candidate will have experience of leading a team, be knowledgeable in HR best practice and employment legislation, possess excellent communication and relationship building skills, and be committed to continuous professional development while enabling others to thrive.
