Provide security for Department of Public Utilities or other Cleveland city buildings, ensuring protection of property, records, and equipment.
Responsibilities
- Under supervision, responsible for the security of Department of Public Utilities or other City of Cleveland buildings, property, records, and equipment.
- Takes immediate action to protect life and property within his/her jurisdiction.
- Performs duties and works hours as designated by the Chief of the Public Utilities Police Department or other superior and/or his/her designee.
- Assures all key assigned installations are secured from outside intrusion on a 24/7 basis.
- Performs other job-related duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Private Security or Peace Officer certification from the Ohio Peace Officer Training Commission.
- Valid State of Ohio Driver’s License.
- Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 30 pounds.
- 9mm handgun 20‑hour certification preferred.
