The Criminal Division of the City of Cleveland's Law Department is seeking an energetic, selfâmotivated, ethical attorney to serve as a fullâtime Assistant Prosecuting Attorney. The incumbent will prosecute misdemeanor violations of Cleveland Codified Ordinances and the Ohio Revised Code in the Cleveland Municipal Court, Ohio 8th District Court of Appeals, and the Ohio Supreme Court. These misdemeanors include, but are not limited to, traffic violations, assault, domestic violence, disorderly conduct, and theft.
Prosecutors will be tasked with reviewing police reports for the determination of criminal charges and drafting of those charges, as well as for referral of matters to the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor's Office for felony charges.
The ideal candidate will be hardâworking, proficient, and able to work well as a team member in a fastâpaced environment. Applicants must possess excellent oral and written communication skills as well as a collaborative, problemâsolving mindset. Applicants must be currently licensed to practice law in the State of Ohio and be in good standing with the Ohio Supreme Court.
