What are we looking for?
Reporting directly to the Associate Chief Information Officer, Cleveland Clinic London, you will provide strategic leadership for the design, implementation, optimisation and lifecycle management of enterprise‑wide clinical and business applications, as well as AI/RPA initiatives across Cleveland Clinic London entities and affiliates. The role is accountable for maximising value from significant multi‑million‑pound investments in Epic and other core platforms, ensuring systems are safe, reliable and support high‑quality, efficient patient care. You will be a key member of the IT leadership team, shaping digital strategy, driving transformation and acting as the senior advisor on clinical and business systems to executives, clinical leaders and external partners. This role carries organisational‑wide responsibility for applications strategy, budget stewardship and vendor performance, with direct impact on patient, clinician and operational experience and on the realisation of CCL's digital investment strategy.

What will your duties include?
- Provides strategic, financial and operational leadership for all clinical and business applications supporting Cleveland Clinic London, leading the applications and informatics function.
- Develops and owns multi‑year strategic and technical roadmaps for clinical and business applications, aligned with CCL and Enterprise digital strategy including AI/RPA initiatives.
- Leads and owns the planning and management of multi‑million‑pound operating and capital budgets for applications and informatics, ensuring demonstrable return on investment, cost optimisation and transparent reporting to executive stakeholders.
- Provides senior leadership to a diverse, multidisciplinary team (internal and external resources), defining organisation design, workforce plans and talent development for the applications and informatics function.
- Serves as executive‑level point of escalation for application performance, safety and availability, ensuring robust governance, risk management and compliance with regulatory and information security requirements.
- Directs the implementation, integration and optimisation of the Epic Enterprise suite and related clinical systems, ensuring standardisation with the broader Cleveland Clinic Enterprise where appropriate.
- Partners with clinical, operational and corporate leaders to identify, prioritise and deliver digital and data‑driven improvements to quality, safety, patient experience and operational efficiency.
- Establishes and monitors key performance indicators and service levels for applications, using data to drive continuous improvement and to inform investment decisions.
- Leads vendor strategy and executive‑level vendor relationships, including contract negotiations, performance management and resolution of complex commercial or delivery issues.
- Provides clear, concise reporting and presentations to executive committees and governance forums, informing decisions on investment, risk and strategic priorities for applications and informatics.
- Sponsors and leads large, complex, cross‑organisation programmes of work, including new site deployments and major upgrades, ensuring benefits realisation.
- Provides senior leadership to the applications and informatics team, including line management, succession planning, performance management and development of future leaders.
- Develops and administers systems area policies and procedures.
- Acts as advisor and consultant to project sponsors and executives.
- Other duties as assigned.
What we need from you?
- Bachelor's degree in information technology/computer science, Health Sciences, Healthcare Admin or related field is preferred.
- Master's Degree preferred.
- Strong communication, leadership, team building and project management skills required.
- EPIC experience required.
- Healthcare experience required.
- Clinical background preferred.
- Additional experience managing large complex enterprise projects preferred.
- Extensive information services management experience in a medium to large medical or industrial organisation, including demonstrative experience in a senior leadership role with enterprise‑wide accountability required.
- Demonstrable experience leading large application and/or informatics teams (including third‑party resources) and managing complex portfolios of programmes and services required.
- Experience influencing and collaborating at Executive and Board level in a complex healthcare organisation, including participation in or presentation to executive governance forums required.
- Proven track record of delivering major digital transformations in healthcare, including Epic Enterprise implementations and subsequent optimisation at scale required.
- Has proven experience in application of project management, system development methodologies and agile frameworks for delivery including SCRUM required.
- Knowledge of healthcare operations is essential.
