The Inpatient Healthcare Assistant will primarily be involved in assisting nursing Caregivers and providing direct patient care, as well as ensuring the safety and well-being of patients and always working in a manner that promotes privacy and dignity.

What will your duties include:

  • Responsible for providing basic nursing care to patients under the directions and supervision of trained nursing caregiver

  • Developing competence in carrying out basic observations and recording results

  • Assist with the transfer of patients within Departments or floor using the correct moving and handling techniques

  • Able to act as a role model, ensuring the reputation of the nursing profession is upheld

  • Participating effectively at the Quality improvements initiatives for the ward ensures that the Ward KPI’s are achieved and are aligned with CCL quality standard

  • You may be required at times to work in other speciality floors in order to support patient care.

  • NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care or a Care Certificate

  • Demonstrable clinical experience in or similar setting

  • Track record of achievement of objectives in present and past jobs in the clinical field.

  • Good communication and organisational skills

  • Able to bring experience from an Orthopaedics and/or Neurosurgery ward is preferable, but hospital experience is a necessity
