What are we looking for?

Cleveland Clinic London are looking to recruit an Estates Operation Manager to join the Estates Team. We are looking for someone to provide leadership, management, and development of the Estates & Facilities services, ensuring operational commitments & Key Performance Indicators are met and exceeded. You will be responsible for operational delivery and are expected to be familiar with all aspects of Estates operations. It is your role to provide leadership to the team and ensure that the Objectives & Key Results are delivered. You will have financial responsibility and will support the Director of Estates & Facilities with proactive management of the OpEx & CapEx budgets.

The role requires you to be a key contact in the event of any operational issues on a day to day and out of hours basis and must be able to react in a methodical and controlled manner, implementing the agreed escalation procedures as required and keeping caregivers, the on‐call Leader & where required to do so, Executive Leadership, fully briefed on both the operational management and the strategy for resolution. You will be required to communicate to caregivers on all aspects relating to the delivery and management of the Estates function.

What will your duties include?

  • Provide leadership, management, and development of the Estates & Facilities services, ensuring operational commitments & Key Performance Indicators are met and exceeded.
  • Ensure Cleveland Clinic London policies and processes are effectively communicated and implemented within the Estates services.
  • Develop Preventative Maintenance needed for maintaining building systems in accordance with manufacturers recommendations and relevant HTM and HBN's.
  • Ensure the provision of healthy and safe working conditions and that health and safety policy and process is effectively implemented across CCL.
  • Ensure optimum staffing structures operate to ensure the delivery of service excellence.
  • Ensuring post holders are fully competent, and that effective succession planning arrangements are in place.
  • Working with other operational managers to ensure the collaborative development of support services, effective team working, and support to caregivers.
  • Ensure appropriate control systems to ensure statutory, mandatory and policy commitments are met.
  • Ensuring a customer focus within all areas of operational activities, and that effective relationships are maintained with key stakeholders and caregivers.
  • Provision of leadership and guidance, advice, coaching and direct support, where required to deliver best practice selection, training, assessment and recognition/reward.
  • Other duties assigned.

What we need from you?

  • Professional/academic qualification at degree level or equivalent experience in a Technical or Estates discipline.
  • Good knowledge of statutory and mandatory tasks required for infrastructure systems.
  • Evidence of continuing personal and professional development in Estates & Facilities Management disciplines.
  • Authorised Person qualification.
  • Registration as member of IHEEM/IWFM or similar.
  • NEBOSH General Certificate in Health and safety or IOSH Health and Safety and working towards NEBOSH General Certificate.
  • Significant experience in a senior manager position, in the estates and facilities management sector.
  • Evidence of successful projects/programmes of work within agreed constraints e.g. budgets, timescales.
  • Demonstratable knowledge of best practice in Hard FM standards, and a robust knowledge base of NHS technical guidance and standards (HTM's and HBN's).
  • Have at least one relevant area of technical expertise (electrical, fire, medical gases, decontamination, water safety etc).
  • Demonstrable experience of having managed teams, Operational budgets and contracts.
  • Strong understanding and experience of Operational Building Services is essential.
  • Previous experience of CAFM Systems is required.
