Cleveland Clinic London are looking to recruit a Payer Contracts Manager. In this role you will be reporting to the Head of Payer Contracting and Relationships where you will provide contracts, commercial, pricing, and analytical support in relation to payers for Cleveland Clinic London (CCL), managing relationships with defined UK and international payers. You will support contractual relationships with assigned payers. In addition, you will work with Finance, Business Development & Strategy, Information Technology (IT), Enterprise Analytics (EA), and Clinical caregivers and leadership to monitor, report, and help improve the performance of assigned payer agreements and relationships. This role serves as a subject matter expert with payer operations through coordinating work with internal stakeholders. What makes us different? Contract Management Manages a defined range of payer agreements for UK and international payers and communicates these to the operational and clinical areas as appropriate. Prepares assessments of new payer relationships including a comparison to standard CCL terms and contract objectives. Recommends updates to standard CCL payer contracts and business terms as business environment dictates and strategies change. Supports negotiation of renewals, amendments, and new contracts with UK private medical insurers and international payers. Maintains chronology of contract proposals and counter proposals using the CCL contract management system. Works with the Head of Payer Contracting and Relationships and the Law Department to assess legal risks in the context of contractual provisions. Monitors contract terms and conditions for compliance with financial and operations terms. Drafts and proposes alternate contract language in collaboration with Law Department. Payor Operations and Analyses Managing relationships with assigned payers effectively across the contract lifecycle working and supporting the Payer Contracts Administrator with day-to-day operational issues. Responsible for developing and implementing audit tools and processes with assigned payers, in liaison with Finance and IT, to ensure contract compliance. Responsible for development of tools and resources to assist clinical and finance caregivers with contract compliance. Evaluates opportunities and financial terms for payer contracts. Drafts responses and fulfils requests for additional information needed by assigned payer representatives. Participates in operational corrective actions for compliance issues. Strategic Projects and Development Agendas Seeks out opportunities to incorporate measurable outcomes and quality indicators or value-based reporting parameters into the relationships. Supports strategic contracting, pricing, and growth opportunities with assigned payers in collaboration with Finance and Business Development & Strategy. Leads/Manages medium to large size projects, leveraging basic project management tools to deliver results. Supports Head of Payer Contracting and Relationships as directed with strategic planning as it relates to payer relationships. Collaborates with consultants and other caregivers to optimise contract performance across the enterprise and across each clinical institute. Supports pricing and contracting strategies for consultant and professional billing. What we need from you? Bachelors degree in business, finance, or healthcare management or related field (essential) Masters degree in business, finance, or healthcare management (desirable) A demonstrable track-record over several roles (or equivalent experience) in healthcare contract management, negotiations, pricing, and/or hospital administration within a hospital, health insurance, or consulting environment (essential). Evidence of liaising in collaboration with clinical teams and consultants (desirable) Previous experience and expertise with contract terms, reimbursement methodologies, legal issues, and/or contract analysis (essential). Demonstrable experience in a professional environment of negotiation skills, strong analytical ability, problem-solving abilities, and financial skills (essential). Demonstrable experience of collaborating with remote teams (desirable). Demonstrable experience working in a complex, matrixed organisation (desirable). Knowledge of medical terminology (desirable). Previous experience and expertise using Excel at intermediate level desirable (e.g., PIVOT Tables and reporting, model development) (essential).
