JOB SUMMARY

This position is responsible for providing general and specialized direct and indirect patient care through the application of evidence-based nursing procedures and practices to patients of all ages on assigned nursing unit. This position is also responsible for demonstrating competency in the behavioral, growth, development and psychosocial needs of patients being treated.

QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or equivalent qualification is required.

Minimum three (3) year curriculum in Nursing from an accredited program is required.

Experience

Certification and Licensure

Valid and current national license is required.

BLS is required from AHA or an equivalent organization, or must be obtained within 3 months of employment.

ACLS, PALS relevant to area of specialty is required, from AHA or an equivalent organization; or must obtain within 6 months of employment.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously
  • Fluency in written and spoken English
  • Ability to speak and write in Arabic is preferred

PRIMARY JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

PATIENT CARE

Completes timely patient admission and ongoing assessments, plans and updates plan of care based on individual patient needs.

Provides direct care and evaluates outcomes, incorporating principles of family-centered care.

Monitors and documents patients’ condition and effectiveness of care and interventions.

Assesses educational needs of patients and significant others considering cultural needs and other special concerns.

Provides teaching and educational material to the patient and/or significant others as appropriate.

Validates and documents patient and family understanding of teaching.

Administers prescribed medications in accordance with approved policies and protocols, utilizing barcode scanning.

Carries out prescribed treatments in accordance with approved policies, protocols and educational material procedures.

PROFESSIONALISM

Leads the caregiver team in the delivery of patient care collaborating with other disciplines to facilitate achievement of planned and expected outcomes.

Maintains confidentiality with patients and families and adheres to Mubadala Code of Conduct.

Demonstrates active participation in resource stewardship.

INTERPERSONAL COMMUNICATION

Communicates with patients, families, communities, and other health professionals in a responsive and responsible manner that supports a team approach to maintaining health and treatment of disease.

Engages patient and family in hand-off of clinical information and planning daily plan of care as appropriate.

ROLE LEVEL ACCOUNTABILITIES

Adheres to CCAD’s standards as they appear in the Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest policies.

In view of the evolving needs and opportunities within CCAD, this position may be required to perform other duties as assigned and reporting relationships may vary.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

Typical physical demands include a high degree of manual dexterity to sufficiently perform computer functions on a keyboard, produce materials on a PC and operate basic office equipment, normal or corrected vision and hearing, exposure to communicable disease or body fluids, extensive standing and walking, working under stressful conditions and some irregular hours, handling and lifting patients, mobility sufficient to visit with departments or employees throughout CCAD and lift up to 50 lbs.
